The Mountain Institute's eighth annual Run for the Hills! 5k & half-marathon will take place on Sunday, October 11th at the Spruce Knob Mountain Center. The event will take place in conjunction with The West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners' (WVMTR) seventh annual West Virginia Trilogy - a 50K, 50 mile, and half-marathon spread over the 3-day weekend. The Mountain Institute, in partnership with WVMTR, will once again host these races to raise funds for TMI's education programs. Held in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains near Spruce Knob, these two cross-country races are sure to both challenge and inspire runners!

The races cover ground on both gravel roads and hilly single track trails. The 5K will split from the half marathon around the 2.5 mile marker. The 5K will have one water station and the half marathon will have four aid stations. To view the course map please click here.
5K: $40 before August 26, $45 after
Half Marathon: $45 before August 26, $50 after

Registration fees include a night of camping and use of the Mountain Institute facilities, pasta dinner on Saturday night, breakfast on Sunday, a ticket to our GIANT picnic after Sunday's races, and a t-shirt! Additional meal tickets may be bought the day of the event (cash or check).
