The tentative title for Dr. Reinhard's childrens' book is Discovering the Ice Maiden: My Adventures on Ampato. The book is due out next spring from the National Geographic Society.

There is another childrens' book due out this fall titled Ice Maiden of the Andes by Janet Buell, Twenty-First Century Books, New York.

We shall soon have an excerpt from the children's book and references to articles that appeared in childrens' educational magazines detailing the work of Dr. Reinhard soon.

Dr. Reinhard’s research is also being featured in the National Geographic Society’s book for children Talking With Adventurers due out the fall of 1998.  The Children’s Britannica Yearbook (for 9-13 year olds) and the children’s educational book Mummies are to appear with articles on the ice maiden.

This fall nearly a quarter of a million K-12 teachers in North
America will be receiving from the National Geographic Society packets for Geography Awareness Week (GAW) (November 16-22, 1997).  These refer in a handout and a poster to Dr. Reinhard’s high altitude archaeological work. (Thirty thousand of the packets are in Spanish.)

Those interested can obtain copies by calling 1-800-638-6400 ext. 7203.  Sixteen thousand posters are being distributed by MOTT’S to school dining halls that specifically focus on Dr. Reinhard’s Andean work.  Posters may be obtained by calling 203-968-7757."
