Spanish speakers: check out this video on reforestation efforts in Peru. Specifically, the video looks at the reforestion of Quenales (or Polylepsis) trees in the Huasta District of Peru.  The native tree combats some of the negative consequences of glacial recession by absorbing water and  thereby improving the retention of water in the vital waterbasin.
