Mountain Learning Staff

The Mountain Institute’s staff members are experienced, seasoned, and skilled at creating a safe and nurturing environment. Typically in their late 20’s and 30’s, the staff all have college degrees, first aid training, and a strong desire to enrich students’ lives through education.

Nathan HayesNathan Hayes B.A. Recreation, Park, Tourism and Resources Nathan has worked for Seneca Rocks Mountain Guides, been to Alaska with NOLS and most recently flown to Thailand for rock climbing. He has also worked at a summer camp in Maine leading rock climbing and rope course experiences. Nathan is Program Coordinator and Camp Director for Mountain Learning, SKMC.

Dave MartinDave Martin B. A. American Studies Aside from working as a Mountain Learning Program Officer and looking after the SKMC, Dave is a passionate climber. His climbing experince includes routes on four continents, with a number of first ascents on rock and ice right here in the eastern USA. Dave is a Wilderness First Responder.
